Lightbulb Turn your Mobile Phone Into a spying device

The things that you will need to use your phone as a spying device ( as a listening bug ) are:
  • A Mobile Phone
  • A headset which works with that phone.
Here is all that you have to do.
  • Plug the head set into jack
  • In the settings for the enhancement ( must be somewhere in the setting menu ) select the 'enhancement in use' as headset and enable automatic answer so that incoming calls are automatically answered.
  • In the profile set the ringing volume to zero and the vibrating alert to off so that the phone do not make any notification when a new call comes.

You are done. To hear conversations secretly, hide the phone somewhere in the room. The microhpone of the headset can the kept at a place where it wont be noted but can catch voice signals. Remember to completely hide the phone from view so that none would know when a new call comes. (Maybe inside a Plant pot or so.. )

Now to hear conversations call your phone from some another phone. As the phone is set to automatically answer it will be picked up automatically and you can hear the conversation.

Bonus Tip : If your phone is a smartphone ( Like Nokia 6600 or Nokia 7610 ) install a call recording software. With this you can get a recording of the conversation for later use.

This can be used on other phones too.

Interesting application, but don't you think it's intrusion of privacy?

If someone else calls on the phone wouldn't the people in the room possibly be able to hear the person if they talk loudly?

kudos on the clever idea though I agree with Ash's comment.

You can make a normal bug really cheap or use a baby monitor

Any plans to work for cia/mi5? Though I suppose you couldn't tell us

Would loce to work for RAW or CIA or so... lol But as you said we'd better not discuss that here. " If someone else calls on the phone wouldn't the people in the room possibly be able to hear the person if they talk loudly? " To solve this problem, Set the speakers volume to Zero. After all, once the headset is attached the speaker is speaking through the small headset. Its volume is considerably low...
