Default Who could resist a name like Crazy Engineers?

Hi everyone,

I was searching through the web for information on joining/ sealing underground precast units and this site came up in one response.

How could anyone not join? What a great place. Just looking around so far but ready to go.

@ash
Waterproofing is a method by which an item is made resistant to damage by water. It is used in many areas, including clothing, civil engineering.
It also includes use of polymers for making substances that can control leakage/crack.
I think now the work of waterproofing engineer is clear.It is a combination of civil,polymer and chemical engineering.

[this is based on my thinking.If i am wrong then please correct me]

What is a waterproofing engineer?

Let me count the ways....

I am primarily in the construction field and here a waterproofing engineer will have input to any project from the deep basements and underground tunnels to the roof top and everything in between. Walls, decks, balconies, car parks, plant rooms, kitchens, saunas, gyms etc.

We use many types of different products as well as design principles to configure solutions.

Basically it is stopping water from gaining access whether by liquid or vapour to those areas where we don't want it and vice versa by containing water ( or other materials) in storage vessels. The range is enormous.
Right down to stopping your windows or shower leaking!

Lots of fun.
